Challenge #2 - New innovations from disposable paper tableware
Background information for the challenge
There are small cafeterias around the Baltic Sea, that are away from city centers and don’t have access to clean water for washing dishes, so they must use disposable items.
These products are produced at high energetic cost, and after every use, carried to a recycling facility to be burned as energy waste. Existing materials and products should be used, shared, repaired, reused, reprocessed, and recycled for as long as possible. Nothing should be “one time, one use”!
The cups, plates, and cutlery can be seen as valuable raw material for something new, and kept in circulation for as long as possible. The challenge is to think of new products that can be made from the used disposable items.
