Challenge #7 - How to decrease food waste

Background information about the challenge

Each year, one-third of all food produced for human consumption is lost or wasted globally. However, it is not only the food that is wasted! Valuable resources like water, soil, labour, and space are also wasted.

Our challenge is to reduce food waste on either the production, commercial or private level. Food production is responsible for a third of the global greenhouse-gas emissions! Therefore, decreasing food waste is also highly relevant for mitigating climate change.

The World Hunger is on the rise, and we all have a part to play in reducing food loss and waste, not only for the sake of the food but for the resources that go into it.
